1958 Fordson Dexta Tractor

This tractor is one of the first Dexta's from the first year of production being number 1459, so the 1459 one built
 
The tractor starts up well with the 40 seconds of heat and the few pumps of the diesel plunger and settles down and runs nicely
 
The tractor is a single clutch with working hydraulics, PTO, good clutch and good brakes with excellent steering
 
The front tyres are new BKTs, the rears are the original Dunlops, and although low on tread will be fine for quite some time
 
The front rims are the original correct 400x19 Dexta wheels and nice to see as most got changed
 
The tinwork looks to be original as it all fits well, the tinwork has been sprayed and the main carcass has been brush painted, it presents well and quite some time has gone into the restoration
 
The lights all work even the clock light, the dynamo charges as it should and even the horn works
 
There is no frost damage or mixing of fluids
 
A nice presentable Dexta ready to be enjoyed
 
The only thing I can fault is the plough light isn't wired in and the draft control lever is stuck, however the linkage works exactly as it should
 
The tractor has never been registered but the serial number and casting numbers are all visible, there is a nice suppliers plate on the bonnet too
