1948 International W4

1948 International W4 Tractor

This little W4 has been residing in a barn for the past 30 years
 
It has been recently pulled out, treated to new battery leads, new starter switch, new battery, new plugs, new leads and a freshly reconditioned magneto amongst some other jobs.
 
The tractor starts at the touch of the button and runs well, this is a straight petrol tractor and runs well with no switching over of fuels and is surprisingly economical as its designed to run on petrol only
 
The clutch, brakes and steering are all good
 
The engine sounds well, it has no mixing of oil or water and no frost damage with all fluids in the correct places
 
The gears all select nicely and it drives well on good tyres all round
 
The tractor has been here for a very long time, I am unsure if it has been here from new but is fitted with Made in England original looking rear tyres, also 1948 is the last of the lend lease and lots of unusual stuff came over then including my W9 which is badged McCormick Deering!
 
The tractor is fitted with a dynamo but is not connected
 
The tinwork is very good and a very early restoration which just wants an oily rag wiped over now
 
I have no paperwork with the tractor but the serial number is on the plate
