1947 Fordson E27N
1947 Fordson E27N Tractor
This tractor has come from Norfolk, the story goes the tractor arrived to G E Thorpe of Mendlesham in Suffolk painted green, they didn't like green so was then painted red into the Farm coloursThis looks to have been done when nearly new, there is some contractor sign writing on the tank but difficult to read
The tractor itself has the SR43 gearbox with a rear PTO and 3 Point LinkageThe engine is an ENFO stamped block fitted at factory denoted by the TR number on the bell housing
The engine itself runs nicely with no noises or bangs, there is a slight manifold blow from the aftermarket Loddon Manifold, but the tractor starts within a few pulls of the handle
The steering is good, clutch is nice and the handbrake and footbrake all work as they shouldThe tractor is full of coolant with no mixing of fluids and no frost damage, the water pump doesn't leak unusually. The tractor is described as a running driving project with room for improvement, the fuel tank has been chemical metalled on the TVO side so wants addressing, the manifold is blowing as well as a couple of other little jobs like a carb clean would be beneficial. The wings have suffered a bit sadly, however its a difficult choice to repaint the whole tractor to turn it into another blue E27N or leave it with its oozing patina, history and charmContact Ross - 07794746554Nationwide Delivery can be arrangedLocated Winchester - HampshirePart Exchange Welcome
