1943 Fordson Standard N

1943 Fordson Standard N - High Top Tractor

This tractor has been dormant for many years, supplied by "Stanhay" in Ashford Kent the tractor is believed to have been a London Council Tractor

The tractor has its original unfrosted engine bearing the original serial number

The tractor has just had a reconditioned magneto fitted and starts within a few pulls of the handle and runs very well indeed with new plugs and leads etc

The clutch is excellent, no grinding of gears, the steering is good with a little play in the front axle as expected

The tinwork is lovely and original with that aged patina everyone wants

The tractor is full of oil and water with no mixing and no frost damage, the water pump doesn't leak although there is a slow drip from the radiator, personally I would leave this and let it seal itself up over time

The tractor has the high top gear, there is no paperwork or number plate with the tractor

The rear tyres are a lovely pair of early 1950s Good Years with new tubes in on 28" Fisher Humphries, the fronts are a nearly new pair of Alliance on Good Year wheels

The tractor has not had a hard life, the engine sounds strong complete with its original heat shield, original bakelite steering wheel and the fuel tap doesn't leak either

A nice looking tractor ready to be enjoyed
