1936 Fordson Standard N
1936 Fordson Standard N Water Washer
This little Fordson has recently been unearthed from the Midlands where it has been for some time
The tractor has just had a reconditioned magneto fitted and starts and runs well hot or cold and runs well on both fuels
This Fordson has a factory fitted TR engine fitted, this was a Ford scheme and this one was carried out in 1949, my guess is that the tractor was "updated" then and painted green
The tractor itself runs well, the clutch and brake are absolutely superb, no grinding of gears at all.
The radiator is full of water and doesn't leak, nor does the water pump
The steering is very good with no play, very unusual for a water washer
The manifold is a Loddon, these are very good and make the tractor run well and smoothly under load, this one has gone a little thin on the back but doesn't effect the running at all, it still has its rare cover and inlet elbow
The gearbox is a SR43, Red spot and low top, all gears work well
The tyres are all old, the rears are a lovely set of period Dunlop's with some ageing but not requiring attention, the fronts are old and up, adding to the charm but do have some cracking
Although not 100% correct (like most Fordson N's) this tractor has a massive charm and really does have a lovely look
I don't have any paperwork for the tractor, the registration is a Worcester number so may be able to be obtained from the relevant archives
This is a lovely tractor with the patina to match
